Thirteen years deep and still running. Back in 2005 Nike made the initial push to commemorate Black History Month with a simple AF1. Today, it has grown to include charity events, partnerships with non-profits like Big Brothers/ Big Sisters and the Even Higher fund. At it’s root, the collection celebrates Black History, current leaders and Black Future all while pushing for multicultural equality. The BHM drops by Nike have grown throughout the years into a multi-shoe event predominately lead by Nike Basketball.

Today we’ll cover our top 10 favorite Nike BHM shoes since 2005. Checkout the countdown below and let tell us your top picks!

KD IV BHM, 2012

via Kicksdeals

The black/gun metal base worked sooo well with the Afro-futuristic, multicolor, accents. Translucent outsole, check. The first BHM Durant shoe to publically release was also one of the best.

Kyrie 2 BHM, 2016

via Nike

Inspired by the Power of One philosophy, Kyrie’s 2nd BHM iteration was a complete switch from the Kyrie 1 BHM due to it’s colorful look and textures (Kyrie 1 was black/white).

Kobe 9 Elite High, 2015

via Sneakernews

The highlight of 2015’s BHM collection this Kobe dons the popular black/white BHM color scheme.

Vapormax Equality BHM, 2018

via Nike

Kobe 8 BHM 2013

via Nike

Tribal-like pattern, engaging orange highlights and a 3M swoosh. Money.

AJ 3 BHM 2011

via Solecollector

Lowkey laser work, black & gold scheme. flawless execution.

AF1 Low BHM Premium 2008

Mud Cloth heel (unique to every pair), rich brown leather, wood dubrae and lace tips.

AF1 BHM OG 2005

via Nike

The OG of the collection and kicked everything off with a simple African American flag.

AJ1 x BHM x Just Don 2013 (37 pair)

via Sneakeraddict

Step aside Just Don 2’s, these are the best collab with senior Don. Limited as hell, these shoes released via eBay

LBJ XV Equality, 2018 (400 pair)

via Solecollector

LeBron has been rockin’ these for over a month but now we’ll all have a chance to cop. 200 pairs in each color are being raffled off to benefit the ____ foundation. Tickets cost 10$ with unlimited entries, click here to enter!

Bonus. KD 3 BHM, 2011 (UNRELEASED SAMPLE)

This straight up beauty didn’t release with the 2011 collection and man, isn’t that a shame? 3M detailing, black/gold, all the boxes are checked here. Maybe we’ll see these on the retro scene in 10 years.
