During the last two summers, Nike has held enormous marketing platforms and created extensive performance and lifestyle product for the men’s and women’s World Cups. At the midpoint between the two, the Swoosh released one of its most compelling silhouettes in recent memory in the form of the soccer-inspired Air Footscape Magista SP.
Combining a Flyknit upper based on the Magista Obra cleat with the midsole of the Footscape Motion, the Air Footscape Magista SP is both familiar and entirely singular in the same breath. I’ve always had a thing for sneakers that have strikingly different designs, and I think the Air Footscape Magista does different better than just about any sneaker we have seen in 2015. If you’re a fan of them, you’re in luck, as there are new colorways coming down the pipe in 2016, but for me nothing tops the simple black upper and gum outsole found on the original release.
