Nike Zoom Soldier 8 Flyease

I have no idea if I’m in the minority among sneaker enthusiasts here, but I had never been moved to tears over a pair of sneakers. The Nike Zoom Lebron Soldier 8 Flyease changed that. Simply put, it is the most important sneaker of 2015. For those of you who don’t know, this sneaker was developed by Tobie Hatfield and a special assistant to help those who suffer from disabilities that inhibit their ability to put on or tie their shoes. That assistant is Matthew Walzer, a truly inspirational dude who wrote this letter back in 2012 and has since been instrumental in the development of what is now known as Flyease technology.
The Flyease Soldier utilizes a sophisticated zipper and strap system to allow for easier entry into the high top silhouette than a conventional sneaker, which in turn gives great support to those who require assistance with stability in their legs. I’m fortunate to get to work at a summer camp every year with some great kids who suffer from neuromuscular diseases, and the first thought I had when I saw this sneaker is that it could totally alter the quality of their lives in a positive way. I couldn’t be more on board with the Flyease concept and can’t wait to see it refined and made more widely available to those who can benefit from it!
