Lately it seems like there are so many collaboration sneaker releases that they’re hardly special anymore. So, some brands and sneaker boutiques have realized that the logical next step in achieving differentiation is going the extra mile in a new way that hasn’t ever been done. That’s been manifested in a number of ways this year, such as Ronnie Fieg’s latest Gel-Lyte III “Homage” which includes a vast amount of accoutrement, but I think generally the best collaborations still arise from the combination of a clear concept and iconic colorways and materials.

The “Bloodbath” Blaze of Glory definitely has that “it” factor, mixing a fantastic color palette headlined by a deep, uh, blood red, with the shark attack theme that has proven to be a real winner for Sneaker Freaker and the Blaze of Glory model. Every colorway in the series has been solid, but I think the quality materials and the distinctive red makes the “Bloodbath” stand out in the lineup. There’s a reason it shows up on almost all of our lists this year. Aesthetically, it tops out as my favorite collaboration of 2015.
