The people of New York and fans of basketball know the name Allan Houston. Although he was a drafted and member of the Detroit Pistons out of college, but spent most and rest of his career playing for the Knicks. He was a key member of the Knicks during the changing of the guard in the mid-90’s going until his career ended due to injuries in 2005.

He had great moments like helping the Knicks a run to the Finals in 1999 where they as the #8 seed beat the top seeded Miami Heat during the first round. But he is probably most known for six-year, $100 million guaranteed contract. Injuries and the bad Knicks teams he would be a part of made this contract regarded as one of the worst in NBA history. Sadly the injuries also stopped us from seeing Houston rock many “Knicks” colored Nikes.

Since retiring early due to his injuries and costing the Knicks tons, Houston stayed aboard as a member of the front office. Its been speculated for some time he would eventually take on bigger roles within the organization and is now General Manager of their D-League team and Assistant to the President for Basketball Operation for the pro squad.
