In 2004 Nike SB showed a little “California love” with the release of these Dunk Low Pro’s. Appropriately nicknamed “Calis,” the sneaker was inspired by the flag of the 31st state of the nation. The formula of the sneaker was nothing groundbreaking; the upper consisted of a mixture of high quality white tumbled leather, representing the base of the flag, with Pecan Brown suede, representing the brown bear on the side panel. A key detail to the upper is an embroidered red star by the upper eyelets to match the single star on the flag. Completing the look is a green midsole to represent the grass with a red outsole matching the red stripe at the bottom of the flag.

A part of the famed silver-box era for Nike SB, finding a deadstock pair of Dunk Low “Calis” would be a difficult task, especially since it was originally rumored there were only 444 pairs made, although that was never confirmed. Of course, you could go for the recently released Dunk High version or P-Rod 2.5. However, like most movies, nothing is better than the original. And there is no better way to show your love for the Golden State then with a pair of these classic SB Dunk Lows.
