TBT: Jumpman Pro Goodness

No one, I repeat no one under the age of 25 has love for Team Jordans and it’s a darn shame. If a pair of Jays aren’t a signature, numbered retro Jordan then an asterisk (designating a lack of “heat”) automatically accompanies the pair on its way into Nike Outlet obscurity. Current star Jordan Brand athletes without a sig like Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond, Jimmy Buttler and Victor Oladepo wear Team Jordans all the time. Literally, every night, but ‘sneakerheads’ are not running into their local Finish Lines to buy a new pair of Super Flys or Jumpman Hustles like they were in the mid-90s and early 2000s. For example Eddie Jones had onlookers running into stores wanting to buy a pair of Quick 6s or Swift 6s (his first two signatures shoes from ’99 and ’00 respectively). The love for all Jordans was just stronger back in the day maybe? You tell us on IG, what do you think?!

’08 Retro

Lets throw it back on this fine Thursday with a look back at one of the most beloved (and most frequently retro’ed) Team Jordans, the Jumpman Pro. First debuted by Ray Allen in 1997, the Jumpman Pro has retro’ed at least twice since ’97 and has always sold surprisingly well for a non-numbered Jordan model. The design borrows inspiration from the Jordan 12 and with its metallic upper eyelet and wave-like pattern throughout the upper. More retros of Team Jordans that are not only classics but have aged well will change perception of the brand’s ‘other’ line into something more positive again.
