Whether Kevin Garnett left Nike because of the Swoosh declining his request for the creation of an Official Block Family (OBF) clothing line, or because of the money, we’ll never know. But what is known is that the Nike Flightposite III was set to be a KG signature shoe. As he left, plans had to shift and other players around the NBA and the NCAA endorsed the futuristic looking Flightposite III in a wide array of colorways. The same year, Nike brought out the Battlegrounds series which had the “Platinumposite”, an iteration that to this day still commands high prices due to its rare nature. Currently available on eBay is this sample Flightposite III that clearly shows how the shoe was initially branded to be KG shoe. You’ll also note the swoosh on the front pod, something that never made it to any of the mass produced models. If you are a “Big Ticket” fan or lover of 90’s basketball shoes check these out on eBay.
