The Sneaker Freaker x Packer Shoes x Puma Blaze of Glory “Bloodbatch” took the sneaker world by storm last week. It helped jog the old memory banks of another time two shops on different continents joined forces on the Blaze of Glory–two versions of the model to be exact. Way back in 2010 (decades ago in the sneaker time-space continuum) size? was celebrating their 10th anniversary by collaborating with the sneaker brands. With Puma, they chose to work on the Blaze of Glory in two builds very different from one another. Also included on the project was Boston’s Bodega.

Although both pairs look very different, one thing they had in common was the usage of premium materials from Puma. The shared features of each version were the soft leather toebox panels and perforated ankle sides with the classic neoprene sockliner. Camouflage liners were added along with partially speckled midsoles. The size? version is the black based colorway that used more neoprene on the base. Also, the camouflage and speckling was multicolored and matched the bright orange rope laces and heel tab. The Bodega version used more of the leather on the body and tongue in tan with a mixture of tumbled and mini perforated variations. More traditional laces and camo were used on these, better matching with the body.

Just to make sure you knew these were a collaboration the phrase “SIZE? MATTERS BODEGA” is featured on the tongue along with the size? “question mark” on the heel loop. A special pairing that stood out among size?’s 10th anniversary collaborations. These under appreciated gems would have a much different reception in today’s world then they did in 2010.
