We are celebrating 25 years of the Air Max 90 with 25 of our favorite colorways. Fittingly it is also Nike’s second #airmaxday today, March 26th. Special shout out to NikeTalk TeamAMFam member’s Tak and daaznfella for the assist on the list!
Another design under Tinker Hatfield’s extensive resume, the Air Max 90 aka Air Max III was another game-changer. Form and function were on the agenda when Tinker designed the runner. Built with a higher cut then the original Air Max 1 or follow-up Air Max Light, this aided in support and helped with the new thermoplastic lacing system. The Air Max 90 also introduced the usage of dura-mesh, synthetic suede and synthetic leathers. This created a broader range of colors and bold design. A revised two-piece midsole from the Air Max Light was made to be more durable and flexible as well as created the “window” to the large air unit.
Enjoy as we look at 25 colorways of the Air Max 90 (no Fused, hybrids, etc. here), in no particular order. Well except for the “Infrareds,” those are tops. And we know that we are missing HUF’s, Steve Nash’s, un-Infrareds, Lemonades, Warhawks, etc…..
