Kevin Love Broke the Consecutive Double-Double Streak in Peak

Kevin Love’s departure from the Minnesota Timberwolves was not the most amicable one, but he did bring the team that drafted him plenty of spotlight during his time there. Especially on March 9th, 2011 when all eyes were on Love as he was trying to break Moses Malone consecutive double-double record. Although he was a game-time decision to play, he brought his A-game against the Indiana Pacers that night.

Not wanting to disappoint the hometown crowd, Love laced up his Peak PE’s and played his heart out. He scored 16 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in a rout over the Pacers locking down the record before halftime in front of a raucous crowd.

The 2010-2011 season was another disappointment for Wolves fans and Love. But that night and the streak put the spotlight on them. Peak also won the lottery as their sneakers were featured constantly on Sportscenter highlights. Especially since that summer Love parted ways with Peak and became the NBA face of 361 Degrees.
