Marbury’s time was short as during the 1999 lockout season, Marbury had requested a trade to be closer to home. Stephon was then traded to the New Jersey Nets (’99-01) where be bloomed into a first time All-Star and All-NBA Third Team. Despite his individual accolades, the Nets never made it to the playoffs.
