Question Mid "Snake GITD"

2013

Sneaker history

BAIT built this Question Mid as a tribute to Allen Iverson, released in 2013 during a stretch when the Diamond Bar retailer was turning out some of the most considered Reebok collaborations on the market. The upper uses a snakeskin texture rendered in two contrasting black finishes, soft perforated suede against shiny patent leather, a restrained approach that lets the materials do the work. The detail people remember is underneath. The Hexalite units in the midsole get a metallic silver treatment, and both the honeycomb detailing and the smoked translucent outsole glow in the dark, the feature that gave the shoe its GITD shorthand.

It launched on August 10, 2013 at a hundred and eighty dollars, sold through BAIT’s store and a one-day Iverson Tribute Shop on Melrose in Los Angeles, with a complimentary BAIT Snake tee included for buyers. The Question is one of the most important guard shoes ever made, the model that announced Iverson as a force and as a personality the league did not know how to handle, and BAIT treated it with the respect that history deserves. A glow-in-the-dark sole could read as a gimmick on the wrong shoe, but here it sits under a quiet, premium build that keeps the focus on the silhouette. For the archive it represents the modern collaboration era of the Question, when a boutique could add to Iverson’s shoe rather than dilute it.
