Last night, news broke via Twitter of the passing of Jerome Kersey. While Kersey’s career took him to 6 cities, he had his best years in Portland. At least that’s the Kersey that I’ll remember.

Kersey spent his time in Portland in the shadow of Clyde Drexler, but I guess everyone in Rip City did. He combined strength with just enough speed that his transition game often ended with damage to the rim. And he did so in some of the best Nike’s of the time.

We, at Sneaker History, would like to offer Jerome Kersey’s family and the entire Portland Trailblazer family our condolences as we remember #25.
