New place, New beginnings. There’s no place like home, or so we thought. Stephon is laced into the blue and orange. The team he grew up idolizing and wanting to play for his whole career, the New York Knicks. Although he played efficiently, his stats, and his relationship with the coaches began to dwindle. No matter what, he did make New York feel like it had something to look forward to with the youthful rebuilding process, even if it was only temporary. His thriving factor outside of the NBA was creating a line of sneakers that cost $15 while linking up the now defunct business of Steve & Barry’s. This allowed low-income families to afford shoes/sneakers for kids or adults who needed shoes. He made it by all means to wear the shoes on court and prove a point that fifteen dollar shoes work just as well as $100 shoe.
Starbury later became a free agent and found a temporary home with the Boston Celtics, playing alongside legends & former teammate Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo. Although his tenor was short-lived, this would be the last time we hear from Starbury in an NBA uniform.
