Nike and soccer (or football depending on where you reside) have had a long relationship. Although Nike started off with a running background they integrated themselves into the international sport in the 80’s. Adidas dominated the market, but over the past decades the Swoosh has risen to surpass major names like Umbro and Puma. In 2005 the connection between skateboarding and soccer was made with the “Boca Junior” Dunk Low Pro.

2005 was a popular year for Nike SB. Some of the most memorable and most hyped sneakers came out that year. Thanks to heightened attention, great colorways and pink boxes, all eyes on the sneaker world were on what Nike SB was releasing. The “Bocas” fit the script thanks to the simple but bold color combination the club used. It also happened to be around the 10th anniversary that Nike was the official kit supplier for the Argentina sport club.

The colors did all the talking, namely the base of Varsity Royal leather body. The secondary shade of Lightning Yellow was added to the Swoosh, heel, laces and tongue tag stitching. Black on the liner finished off the top while downwards the classic combination of white midsole/gum outsole was decided on. A perfect pair to wear if you have Boca Junior jersey or just wanted to stand out in the crowd. Nike and Boca Junior have had two decades of partnership but these 10-year-old Dunks are probably still the most popular item that has come from the pairing.
