Kendrick Lamar
Track:Â Momma
Verse:
I met a little boy that resembled my features
Nappy afro, gap in his smile
Hand me down sneakers bounced through the crowd
I don’t want to get emotional an y’all but Kendrick’s album…still on heavy rotation for me. “Momma” is a dope track but it gets personal and poignant with the hand me down sneakers line when K-Dot talks about seeing himself in kid that resembles him as a youth. I think about it every time I see a kid with beat up sneakers trying to look fresh because that was me as a kid.
