We all have memorable birthdays, however Shaquille O’Neal’s 28th birthday is pretty memorable. On March 6th, 2000 the Los Angeles Lakers were playing an “away” game against the Clippers at the Staples Center. Besides being pumped because it was his birthday, SHAQ was especially juiced because he had to buy a lot of tickets for family and friends.

Well he did not disappoint and put on a show for the capacity crowd. The “Big Aristotle” scored a career high 61 points to lead his squad to a 123-103 victory over the Clips. It ain’t no 100 points but then no one as touched that. Adding to the point totals he grabbed 23 rebounds, making him the first player in NBA history with a 60-point, 20-rebound game. On his feet for that game were the never released size 22 Dunk.net Chromz.

Age 28 was a good year for the “Big Cactus” (man he had a lot of nicknames) as he racked up the accolades including league MVP and NBA Finals MVP picking up his first championship ring. Happy birthday big man!
