1 Year Ago Michael J. Fox Introduced the First Self-Lacing Nike MAG

Its already been one year since Michael J. Fox received a special gift delivered by Mark Parker with a special note from Tinker Hatfield. Just a reminder the to have a box of tissues close by.

Although many were disappointed that the Nike MAG’s would not be a surprise release and they would have to wait a few months to even have a chance at bidding on a pair at auction the reveal did not disappoint. Nike slyly tweeted messages of the pairs being in New York and allowing Michael J. Fox to reveal them to the world in his own way was the right move. A tweet and video brought the right type of attention to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

And for those that don’t happen to be on social media or had time during the day, Jimmy Kimmel was doing his show in Brooklyn that week and a “surprise” visit from Marty McFly and Doc Brown. Not only did the pair reprise their roles from Back to the Future but the interview was when we got the lowdown on the MAGs, Fox’s graduation commencement speech and more.

Although not many of us got our hands on Nike MAG’s (mostly due to credit card and bank limits) you can’t deny that one year ago was a special day.
