XT-6 "Clear/Black/Riviera"

Sneaker history

The Salomon XT-6 has occupied a rare position in sneaker culture since its 2013 debut as a purpose-built S/LAB trail racing shoe, and its 2018 reintroduction under the Sportstyle banner turned it into one of the defining gorpcore silhouettes of the early 2020s. The pair photographed presents the shoe in a clean black and slate-blue combination: a black engineered mesh upper is reinforced by dark, precision-welded TPU film overlays that form the SensiFit cage running from the midsole up through the lacing zone. The ‘LAB’ callout embossed on the protective toecap references the S/LAB performance heritage, while vertical ‘Salomon’ lettering runs down the heel quarter panel. The signature Quicklace system sits at the throat, anchored by the brand’s instantly recognizable multicolor tongue tab, here showing yellow, red, and blue stripes against a black mesh backing. The midsole is finished in a cool slate-blue, sitting above a white and grey Contagrip rubber outsole whose aggressive lug geometry was originally engineered for soft-ground ultra-distance racing. The agileChassis system within the sole unit provides torsional stability without adding significant stack height, keeping the profile low and the silhouette athletic. The contrast between the all-black upper and the blue midsole band gives the pair a restrained, versatile look that tracks well with the in-line seasonal palette Salomon has consistently offered across the XT-6’s Sportstyle lifecycle.
