Hanon is an Aberdeen shop with deep roots in football terrace culture, and that heritage is the whole idea behind its work with hummel on the Marathona OG. The Marathona is one of the Danish brand’s archive runners, a low-slung trainer with the signature chevrons down the side, and hummel’s arcHIVE program had already been bringing it back for a new audience. Hanon’s version arrived as part of a Standing Only pack, named for the old terraces where supporters stood shoulder to shoulder before all-seater stadiums changed the matchday experience.
The white colorway keeps the silhouette clean and period-correct, the kind of restrained trainer that reads as casual rather than loud, which is exactly the register terrace style has always favored. This is a corner of sneaker culture that often gets overlooked in a market dominated by American basketball and Japanese collaborations. The terrace tradition runs on subtlety, on knowing references and quiet quality rather than hype, and a Scottish retailer reissuing a Danish runner under a terrace banner is a clean expression of it. The Marathona itself is a reminder that the running boom of the late twentieth century produced silhouettes far beyond the German and American giants, and that brands like hummel have archives worth mining.
