The AAPE by A Bathing Ape x Reebok Instapump Fury ‘Camo Black White’ is one of the cleaner executions of the Pump Fury silhouette’s long relationship with Japanese streetwear. AAPE, the more accessible diffusion line of A Bathing Ape, brought its signature Moon Face camouflage to the 1994 Steven Smith-designed runner in a tight black, white, and grey palette that suits the shoe’s already aggressive aesthetic. The upper combines mesh and nylon base layers with leather and suede overlays, all printed in the military-esque camo that AAPE built its identity around. The Moon Face logo appears on the pump tongue, while 3D AAPE Footsoldier embroidery lands at the heel, replacing the usual Reebok vector branding and giving the collab its own visual anchor. The pump button itself, the defining functional detail of the Instapump Fury, is retained and branded accordingly. Below, a white Hexalite midsole keeps the build grounded in the original silhouette’s DNA, with the segmented outsole and carbon fiber graphite arch bridge intact. The restraint of the black and white palette makes this one of the more wearable AAPE collaborations of its era, avoiding the maximalist approach that later BAPE x Reebok releases would lean into. It was among the first full camo treatments applied to the Pump Fury, setting a precedent for subsequent Reebok and BAPE tie-ups on the same silhouette.
