Winter is finally over! Now it’s time to break out your favorite kicks and un-deadstock those grails for everyone to see. We all know a flood of new releases are on the horizon, but there’s always a specific model that becomes the sneaker of the summer. Whether its a pair of all-whites or the newest technical runner – the trend never fails. It looks like this year’s new-hotness is the very familiar, all-time classic, Air Jordan 1. You may be asking yourself, “why”? Especially since the Jordan 1 is pretty much around all year in a multitude of colors and styles. If you’ve been paying attention to the most recent Jordan 1 releases and upcoming drops (clearly if you are reading this I’m going to assume you keep track of these things) you will see an energy around this iconic silhouette that seems to be, as a whole, overshadowing other releases. With recent drops such as the “Crimson Tint” OG 1 highs and the upcoming Nike SB reconnection, it’s only natural for 1s to be in the limelight. 2019 may be the anniversary year of the Jordan 4, but here are my 5 picks that proves my point… the Jordan 1 is the sneaker of the summer!

5. Jordan 1 Retro Lows

With only sporadic releases so far, this sneaker is one of my favorites. Taking part in the Nike SB x Jordan campaign, these sneakers are the perfect silhouette for the summer. Arriving in three colorways, including a rendition of the classic “Black-Toe”, this is not a sneaker to sleep on. Make sure to check out you favorite sneaker store, because these have been popping up with no warning.

4. Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Panda”

Ladies (and gentlemen, if you can fit the extended sizes) turn you SNKRS notifications on because you do not want to miss out on this clean pair. The “Panda” name speaks for itself once you see this clean colorway. With a white leather base and black pony hair accents, these scream luxury. You can catch these beauties on their new release date of May 10, 2019 (previously 4/26).

3. Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Crimson Tint”

Do you like the color-blocking of classics such as the “Bred” and “Royals”? Do you also wish that you can get your hands on the those “Rust Pink” 1s without spending your life savings? Well, this is the perfect marriage of the two sneakers. Prodimitaley covered in a black tumbled leather with “Crimson Tint” accents this sneaker is perfect for those sunny days. Released on 4/13, you can possibly find these hanging around your local sneaker shops in select sizes. Do yourself a favor and catch them while you can.

2. Travis Scott x Air Jordan Retro 1 High OG “Cactus Jack”

Every sneaker that Travis Scott gets his hands on seems to turn to gold, and this Jordan 1 is no different. Covered in premium leather and topped off with the reversed Swoosh, you already know that these shoes will be a challenge to get your hands on. Call your sneaker plugs now, because on 5/3 you are going to need all the help you can get to secure these before they hit the resell market.

1. Air Jordan 1 OG x Nike SB “Lakers”

A Laker’s colored sneaker that eventually fades away to reveal a “Chicago” 1…must I say more!? Another collaboration with Nike SB that takes cues from the successful Lance Mountain collaboration is primed to stir up the sneaker community. And this is only one of the colorways dropping! You will also be able to try your luck for a “Light-Bone” pair that will eventually fade away to reveal a “Hyper-Pink” colorway. This collaboration between the two lines looks to be perfectly executed. All I know is that on 5/25 I will be with the masses hoping to get that “Got ‘Em” messages.

Do you agree with this list? Did we miss any potential bangers that are coming out this summer? Let us know in the comments which Jordan 1 will be your next pick up.
