I was recently digging through our IG feed and came across these photos I reposted from Wex, aka Jon Wexler, formerly an adidas executive who is largely responsible for the biggest adidas partnerships in recent history (Betonce, Kanye, Pharrell, and Snoop Dogg).
I’ve seen photos of the third KOBE sneaker from adidas before, but this colorway really represents the era to me. The early 2000s were a wild time for sneakers. From Dada to the Nike Flight line on the basketball side, and from Bape to Reebok’s collabs with BBC on the Ice Creams, 50 Cent’s G-Unit shoes, and Jay Z’s Gucci Tennis-inspired S. Carters, brands were really pushing the envelope.
I hope we get back to that level of experimentation from sneaker brands soon. I also hope this adidas KOBE III eventually releases in some form
