Sitting Treasures: adidas Originals TRESC Run

In a time of countless releases and endless hype, how can a sneakerhead keep up? Well, I want to take a breather from the onslaught, and shine light on some of the great sneakers sitting on shelves that may not be blowing up your feed. Today I’ll be sharing the TRESC Run from adidas Originals with you! This silhouette comes from the newly launched Asterisk Collective exclusively for Foot Locker.

The Collective is made up of celebrity endorsers Kid Cudi, Patrick Mahomes, Donovan Mitchell, Candace Parker, Raury, and H.E.R.

The goal of this group is actually something positive, which is always awesome to see from big brands like adidas. The mission of the Asterisk Collective is “to bring their (the 6 above)own unique personality to campaign, and aim to make a difference in their respective communities through unique initiatives”. These initiatives are amazing. For example, Raury plans to:

“connect with underserved communities by launching a platform that incorporates the holistic aspects of music that will inspire individuals and communities to live healthier lives” – adidas.

Now on to the sneaker itself, the TRESC Run is a great looking sneaker that takes inspiration from the runners of the 90s. For a $130 sneaker the TRESC Run utilizes some nice materials! The upper is primarily constructed from a mesh material that is dressed in leather and suede overlays (matching the hue of the mesh). You will also find contrasting suede along the toe cap, heel, and in this unique “peak” pattern on both the lateral and medial sides. In my experience, the black suede pieces sit on top of the all red upper for a nice effect. The branding details on the traditional 3 stripes on the side sport a combination of green, white, and blue 3M – super clean!

The Trefoil branding on the tongue and heel share the same color combos minus the reflective material along with the Asterisk Collective logo on the lateral heel. Now that we covered the upper, let’s move on to that BOOST! The TRESE Run is one of the most comfortable pair of BOOST sneakers I’ve worn. They’re not UltraBOOST level comfort, but definitely a step over the NMD. Don’t just take my word on it; do yourself a favor and try them out. finally my favorite part of this sneaker is the outsole. They’re translucent, colorful and match the shoe’s overall branding. The bust of color really helps set off the shoe’s overall simple color scheme.

I saw this sneaker and instantly had to get it! I’m not sure how it’s still hanging around. They are limited to only Foot Lockers and adidas stores. There hasn’t been much advertisement either. If you are a fan of BOOST and looking for something other than the same old UltraBOOST and NMD then I definitely recommend you give these a shot.

Are there any treasures sitting out there that you’d like to tell us about? Let us know in the comments.
