Fifteen years ago today, Reggie Miller scored his 20,000th point. He became the 25th player in league history to do so.

Miller’s achievement occurred during a game with the Warriors who, despite Reggie’s 30 points that night, won by two for a final score of 92-90. The Warriors win broke their seven game losing streak and ended a five game victory streak for the Pacers.

Reggie Miller took a bit longer to score his 20,000th point than other greats. To put things in perspective, Miller scored his 20,000th in his 1021st game during his fourteenth NBA season. It took the great Wilt Chamberlain only 499 games and seven seasons, MJ 620 games, Oscar Robertson 671, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 684.

Reggie is one of my all time favorites–nobody has ever done more damage in pinstripes than he has. I couldn’t find a picture of Miller from the game in which he scored his 20,000th point, but here’s a flick of him rocking Concord XIs in the next game the Pacers and Warriors faced off (November 30, 2000). Sadly, the Warriors defeated the Pacers in that game too.

Cheers to your 20,000th point Reggie.
