Kyrie Irving Wears the Kyrie 1 “Deceptive Red” Before it Releases

Kyrie Irving’s first signature sneaker, the Nike Kyrie 1, was praised for its lightweight construction and bang-for-your-buck. At its release, the Kyrie 1 was the least expensive Nike Basketball signature model, coming in at $110. It was also made in sizes for the entire family. One of the most popular and special colorways to release was the ‘Deceptive Red’. Scheduled to release on January 10, 2015, Kyrie figured an away game against the league’s best Golden State Warriors was a good time to lace them up. The kicks looked great on court and he had a decent game tallying 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals for the LeBron-less Cavs. However, they lost to the Curry lead Warriors 94-112. Ironically, this game was the first time Steph wore his signature sneaker, the Under Armour Curry One, on court as well. On this date in sneaker history it was UA-1, Nike-0.
