Kyle Lowry’s career has been on an uptick ever since he joined the team up north, the Toronto Raptors. The Villanova guard left after his sophomore year and was drafted by the Memphis Grizzles with the 24th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. There he got injured and battled for the position with Mike Conley. Traded at the deadline in 2009 he was sent to the Houston Rockets where his game came together. He played well for his time there but clashed with Kevin McHale when he became coach. Injuries didn’t help and eventually a cheaper Goran Dragic seemed like the direction Houston and McHale wanted. He did become a member of PEAK during his time at Houston, a common trend for the brand.

So that lead to the trade to the Raptors where it started off rough but he has found a home. Thanks in part to a strong relationship with general manager Masai Ujiri who came over from the Nuggets. But also the team played a game that catered to his strengths. The big turning point for Lowry was when the Raptors traded Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings which meant himself and DeMar DeRozan were the leaders. Both flourished with their games and showed the potential that many though both had.

Before the season started Lowry was one of the big free agent names available. But Lowry found a home in Toronto and wanted to see where he and the team could go. Building from last season didn’t go unnoticed from sponsors either. That helped Lowry sign a major contract with adidas (even if the Raptors love their Jordans). This season Lowry has not disappointed those that believed in him. He took the reigns as DeRozan suffered an injury that kept him out for an extended period. He has played inspired ball leading to his first All-Star game invitation and making the Raptors one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

Finding a home and his confidence has only helping Lowry look better and better. Now we just hope the Raptors and adidas keep showing him love as Lowry becomes a bigger name around the league. Looking forward to what Lowry does in year 29.
