Rick Barry - King of Granny Shots - Rick Barry Sneakers

Rick Barry has had his ups and downs but his basketball career was definitely filled with more of the former. Richard Francis Dennis Barry III is mostly known for wearing adidas but even more so, he’s remembered for his “granny shot” underhanded free throws. You know, aside from his ABA Championship, NBA Championship, NBA MVP Award, 8 NBA All Star appearances, ROY, Scoring Title, and on and on and on…

Aside from his partnership with adidas, specifically with the Top Ten, Rick Barry also spent a number of years wearing Converse, PUMA and even ASICS.

In recent years, he partnered with Ektio to add his likeness to their anti-ankle sprain designs. With such a diverse sneaker history, it’s a no-brainer that we wish Rick Barry a happy 71st birthday today.
