We had to pay our respects to one of the best pass-first point guards in the Jordan Era, when the NBA really took off. The current mayor of Sacramento, was known for giving Stockton a run for assists leader every year. Besides dropping dimes, he was just as much of a scoring threat keeping his foes honest every minute. Check these impressive stats and the company he kept:
- One of only three players in NBA history (Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson) to average at least 20 points and 12 assists in a season.
- One of only three players in NBA history (Oscar Robertson and Isiah Thomas) to average at least 20 points and 10 assists per game in three consecutive seasons.
- One of only four players in NBA history (Robertson, Thomas, and Magic Johnson) to have averaged at least 20 points and 10 assists per game in three different seasons.
Besides being nice on the court, KJ also got some of the sneaker deal love that started to spread in the league during the ’90s. His Fila KJ7 returned last year after a two decade hiatus and his Converse Run ‘N Slam is still one of the most under appreciated ’90s hoop shoes in the game. The Run ‘N Slam got retro love in the 2000’s better never got the true quality look like the original.
