If you are old enough to remember the NBA before the Orlando Magic, then you might be old enough to remember that Nick Anderson was the team’s first ever draft pick. Starting a new franchise is never easy and the Magic struggled for the first few years with Anderson being one of the few bright spots. Few wins equates to high draft picks which in turn resulted in Dennis Scott, Shaquille O’Neal and Chris Webber Penny Hardaway. And we know how exciting and fun that team was to watch, even if they couldn’t win a championship before the team’s breaking apart. The Magic team and Anderson were rocking fresh footwear during this exciting time and most of his career he wore Nike and Air Jordans (thanks to MJ’s first retirement). The relationship with Jordan made sense considering Anderson is from Chicago and was even named llinois Mr. Basketball at one time. Those times with Shaq and Penny were his best years and this big three was one of the best ever. So lets just forget about some Playoff mistakes and his career in Sacramento and Memphis. In many eyes #25 will always be a Orlando Magic.
