One of the best kicks to wear to celebrate Cinco de Mayo is now these Nike SB Dunk Low Pro’s. Released in 2005 we will never understand the decision to use the official colorway of White/White. But regardless the official look of these Dunk Low’s were influenced by the Mexican flag. The leather upper was created in the same red, white and green as the stripes of the flag. The brown represents the eagle crest centered on the flag. The simple colorway left little to interpretation for the sneaker.

Although the “Cinco de Mayo” Dunk Low released in May 2005, Nike SB let the world see the colorway in August 2004. That was when Nike SB athlete, and Mexican-American, Paul Rodriguez wore the Dunks to win the gold meal in X-Game Street which was held in his hometown of Los Angeles. PRod and Nike SB would pay homage to his Mexican heritage with special colorways of his signature model over the years, but these are the most popular. Today along with Mexican Independence Day are the perfect day’s to break out these classic SB Dunks if you have them.
