Air Jordan XXX
The 30th-anniversary flagship, a knit upper, and Westbrook’s galaxy PE.
The Air Jordan XXX arrived in 2016 at two hundred dollars for the line’s thirtieth anniversary, designed by Tinker Hatfield. It paired a knit-and-woven upper with updated FlightSpeed architecture, a clean and modern build meant to mark three decades of the franchise.
Russell Westbrook debuted the galaxy-print Cosmos edition at the 2016 All-Star Game, the colorway most people remember. It is widely reported as among the last signature-line models Hatfield led before stepping back, the close of an era for the designer most responsible for the line’s identity.
Reception was modest but positive, a tidy anniversary capstone rather than a blockbuster. The XXX is the end of the Hatfield-led numbered run and the bridge into the performance models that followed.
