Air Jordan 13

The Black Cat. A panther’s paw and a holographic eye.

The Air Jordan 13 came in late 1997 at a hundred and fifty dollars, built around Jordan’s Black Cat nickname. Hatfield gave it a paw-pad outsole, a holographic cat-eye disc on the heel, and a dotted texture meant to evoke a panther in motion. It is one of the most thoughtful designs in the line.

Jordan wore it through the 1997-98 title season, and the He Got Game colorway is tied to Denzel Washington and Spike Lee’s 1998 film of the same name. The shoe shows up throughout The Last Dance, which introduced it to a new generation.

He Got Game, Bred, Flint, and Chicago are the colorways that move, and a CLOT collaboration brought it into the collab era. The 13 is a quiet grail, loved most by people who pay attention to the details.
