Air Jordan 8

Straps, fuzz, and the first three-peat.

The Air Jordan 8 dropped in 1993 at a hundred and twenty five dollars and went maximalist. It had crossed anti-inversion straps borrowed from the Air Raid, a thick fuzzy collar, and chenille tongue patches, the busiest Jordan yet and a sharp turn from the clean lines before it.

It carried Jordan through the Bulls’ first three-peat in 1993, the title sealed by John Paxson’s Game 6 three against Phoenix. The Bugs Bunny campaign, the Hare Jordan era, ran alongside it and set up everything that came later with Space Jam.

Aqua is the colorway that defines the 8, a teal and purple scheme that looked like nothing else then and has become a cult favorite now. The Playoffs and Bugs Bunny pairs round it out. Polarizing at launch, the 8 has aged into a classic.
