Japan’s atmos is up next. Perhaps the craziest looking of the Pump 20s to release, it featured a black leather upper with a purple fade midsole and glow in the dark speckling that hit the Pump on the tongue, the heel Pump release, and the midsole/heel wrap. Brash might be the word for these, as they featured metal lace dubraes that shout ‘ATMOS’.
The atmos release party was something to behold. Hosted very near the top of a skyscraper overlooking all of Tokyo, the party featured huge projected Pump 20 images, a troupe of fluo dancing ninjas, scores of beautiful women, and an amazing gallery of all the Pump 20 collabs, each displayed in a thick shrink-wrapped membrane. Check out the party’s recap and an interview with atmos’ Sato Yuichi here.
