You can argue that besides Ray Allen, Mike Bibby had the best Air Jordan Player Exclusive (P.E.) colorways made for him. Sneakerheads know that Bibby has had a long history of great sneaker moments on-court starting with his days as an Arizona Wildcat. Bibby was part of Jordan Brand’s first set of signature athletes so he had many special J’s over his career. Through his career, he played for Vancouver (remember them), Atlanta, Washington, Miami, New York but his most memorable times was when he was in Sacramento.
Bibby was also known for being a fan of loving low-cut sneakers and Jordan Brand obliged with his kicks. Many models were made in low-cut form for Bibby, also making his P.E.’s even more special. Seen here is a pair of Air Jordan 2 Low’s made for him when he played for the Kings. The “away” colorway is black based with purple accenting. Besides the colorway there are other signs that show it was made for him. Along with being his size (12.5) the sneakers have special embroidering too. Bibby’s close friends are known as Team Dime and the TD/#10 logo is featured on the left shoe while the right has ‘1Z’ added on, a nod to his late friend Anthony Thompson.
Up on eBay now these are still deadstock and over a decade old since they were made for the 2004-05 season. And if you want worn, autographed version there is a pair available as well. Not surprisingly there is a “home” white version floating around too.
