A few days ago I was catching up with my very good friend Sean Williams from OSD (Obsessive Sneaker Disorder). If you are not familiar with what OSD is, they were one of the pioneers in the sneaker community to create a podcast platform to educate fellow sneaker lovers on the history of footwear and the current state of sneaker culture. I have truly admired all their work and dedication to the sneaker community. Sean told me that he was fortunate enough to have Slate.com ask him to discuss briefly the evolution of basketball sneakers and how they developed along the way. I found it fascinating how over the years sneakers that were once used solely for their intended purpose evolved to become fashionable staple pieces. Please take a moment and check out what my fellow sneaker historian has to say.
