I’m not sure what it is about Karl Malone, but he’s just not an exciting guy. But regardless of the fact that I can’t stand the Utah Jazz, his partner in crime, John Stockton, or even his choice in footwear (most of the time), it’s hard to argue against the stats. 14 years ago tonight, December 5th, 2000, Malone passed Wilt Chamberlain on the all time scoring list. While his Apex shoes aren’t really on the most wanted list, and his time in LA Gear may only make a few¬†people’s wish lists, his post-career move to Skechers, well, is fitting for The Mailman. All hatred aside, The Mailman was a beast on the court. He redefined the Power Forward position and, if anything, proved it wasn’t the shoes.
